WebRTC protocol in Brave browser

To enable WebRTC protocol properly in Brave browser, follow these steps:

Update Brave: Make sure you have the latest version of Brave installed. This ensures that you have the most up-to-date WebRTC support. To update Brave, click the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of the browser, go to «About Brave.» Brave will check for updates and install them if available.

Check WebRTC settings: By default, Brave should have WebRTC enabled. There are no built-in settings to enable or disable WebRTC in Brave, as it is always enabled in modern versions of the browser.

Allow camera and microphone access: WebRTC requires access to your camera and microphone for real-time communication. When prompted by a website that uses WebRTC, make sure to allow access to your camera and microphone. You can also manage these settings by clicking the lock icon next to the website's URL in the address bar and selecting «Site settings.»

Check for browser extensions: Some browser extensions might interfere with WebRTC functionality. If you're experiencing issues with WebRTC, try disabling your extensions one by one to see if the issue resolves. To do this, click the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of Brave, go to «Extensions,» and disable extensions by toggling the switch next to each one. Restart Brave and test WebRTC again.

Test WebRTC functionality: To make sure WebRTC is working correctly, visit a WebRTC testing website such as https://myownconference.com/features/. This site will run a series of tests to ensure your browser is properly set up for WebRTC. By following these steps, WebRTC should be properly enabled in your Brave browser, allowing you to use real-time communication features on websites and web applications that support the protocol.

Alternately you can use the following alternative websites to test your WebRTC functionality: https://www.onlinemictest.com/webcam-test/ – Online Mic Test allows you to test both your microphone and webcam. It's not specific to WebRTC but can help you verify that your devices are working correctly before using a WebRTC application.

Please note that these websites require you to grant permission to access your camera and microphone. Make sure you allow access when prompted to ensure accurate test results.
